Service Description
Discover the joy of creating with clay in our 8-Week Beginner Handbuilding course. Designed for complete beginners and those returning to clay, this structured course will guide you through a series of carefully planned projects that progressively build your skills and confidence. Over eight weekly 2.5-hour sessions, you will learn a range of hand building techniques including pinch pots, slab building and coil construction while creating functional and decorative pieces such as cups, mugs, plates, bowls and organic-shaped vessels. Your 8th and final lesson is a 3-hour decorating and glazing session, where you will further personalise your favourite pieces ready for firing. Through a series of guided projects and with plenty of individual guidance, you will progressively build your skills and confidence while exploring a variety of forms and techniques. Whether you are completely new to ceramics or rediscovering a creative passion, this course offers the time and support needed to develop skills, build confidence and experience the satisfaction of creating beautiful handmade objects. What is included: What is included: • Eight, weekly 2.5-hour guided sessions • Clay for the scheduled course projects • Use of studio tools and equipment • Underglazes and studio glazes • Bisque and glaze firing of your course pieces • Tuition by an experienced teacher in a small class of no more than six students • Bisque and glaze firings (up to 16 pieces to take home) Good to know: Techniques explored throughout the course include pinch pots, slab building and coil construction. The final 15 minutes of each session are reserved for cleaning and packing up, an important part of studio life. Please bring your own apron or wear clothes that you don't mind getting muddy! Pottery is as much about the process as the finished pieces. We encourage mindful making, embracing the learning journey along the way, and not being afraid to let go of some of your vessels.

Cancellation Policy
Booking & Cancellation Policy Places are limited to keep our classes small and provide plenty of individual guidance. Bookings & Payment Full payment is required at the time of booking to secure your place in the course. Cancellations If you need to cancel your booking, please contact P4Pottery as soon as possible. Cancellations made 7 days or more before the course start date are eligible for a refund, less any applicable payment processing fees. Cancellations made within 7 days of the course start date are non-refundable, unless your place can be filled by another participant. If you are unable to attend, you are also very welcome to pass your place on to a friend or family member. Please just let us know beforehand so we can update the booking details. Once the course has commenced, fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. Missed Classes Your booking reserves your place for the full 4-week course. Unfortunately, we cannot offer refunds or credits for individual classes you are unable to attend. Where possible, we will do our best to help you catch up on important demonstrations or techniques, but make-up classes cannot be guaranteed. Minimum Enrolments P4Pottery reserves the right to reschedule or cancel a course if minimum enrolment numbers are not reached. If we cancel a course, you will be offered the choice of transferring to another available session or receiving a full refund. Course Transfers Requests to transfer your booking to the same course offered on a different day or time must be made at least 7 days before your course begins and are subject to availability. By completing your booking, you agree to the above booking and cancellation policy.
